Marshal Training

The usual format is Rally Marshal oriented than before, rather than other 'encroaching' into the other disciplines, however if you wander along to http://silkrallyradio.biz/training_2007.htm there is a list of other training dates that are known about at the moment.

I'm involved in two web sites, the first is www.brmc.org.uk (British Rally Marshals Club), whilst the other is www.silkrallyradio.com . Don't let the 'rally' name put you off as there is quite a bit of info about marshalling on the site when you 'drill down' on some of the links, plus I'm told one of the better event calendars - though only as good as the people who let me know.

Given your Sprint & Hillclimb focus, you might want to link to the BRMC 'parent' club the BMMC, who can be found at http://www.marshals.co.uk/ The club has various disciplines and specific training sections for Circuit, Karting, Speed Events (i.e. Sprint & Hillclimb), rallying, etc. You'll find a closer link between Circuit and Speed than many might think. There training dates can be found here.

As always this training is provided free of charge by MSA Marshals Instructors, the only costs to attendees being their fuel, plus either the college refectory or local café prices for breakfast and lunch, if people don't take their your own sandwiches, etc.

As you will no doubt be aware for any marshal wishing to volunteer for the events such as Rally Wales GB in there is an MSA/Event requirement that they part of their National Marshals Register, which the New to Motorsport course can provide the necessary training to support their application. Similarly for existing MSA registered marshals there is an ongoing requirement for them to attend a Marshals Training Day, particularly if they wish to upgrade. Again the other courses provide the necessary training.
